One of my favorite things about working in the events business is the close friendships that develop over time with other people after operating in the trenches through good times and bad. Fortunately, the last 20 years have been filled with tons of great times.
I received an email from longtime client and friend, Kristi King. I have had the opportunity of working with Kristi since 2000, and through three different stops in her career, including Rockingham Speedway, Talladega Super Speedway, and now NASCAR. Kristi is part of the NASCAR IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications) team and one of the best in the business. NASCAR recently sponsored the Associated Sports Editors conference and needed a modest display that could be set up inside the Omni hotel in downtown Charlotte to showcase how fans were consuming their sport.
After some back and forth, we designed a modular backdrop with three 55” high-definition monitors showing NASCAR content and a simple charging table that would allow tablets, phones, and VR headsets to be displayed throughout the conference. A custom branding package tied the elements together and provided a simple, but high-end, presentation.
This was a small footprint that many suppliers could have facilitated, but what pleased me most is that the friendship I have developed with Kristi is one that has lasted for more than 16 years and continues to be strong today.
If you are looking for a partner and not a vendor, please give me a call.
